Software House Debuts Low-Code Platform Purpose-Built for Industrial Automation Amid 20 % Surge in Factory-IT Spending
Cloud-native “Forge360” lets process engineers deploy PLC-grade control apps in under 48 hours without writing a line of ladder logic.

Software House Inc., a 27-year-old supplier of mission-critical automation firmware, today launched Forge360, a low-code development environment designed to close the skills gap on plant floors where 2.1 million manufacturing jobs could remain unfilled through 2030, according to Deloitte.
The platform arrives as global manufacturers race to modernize: worldwide spending on factory software is projected to hit $19.5 billion in 2025, up 18 % year-over-year, driven by incentives in the U.S. CHIPS Act and Europe’s Digital Europe Programme. Forge360 allows controls engineers and OT technicians to assemble HMI, SCADA, and MES workflows from drag-and-drop components that auto-generate IEC 61131-3 structured text and OPC-UA communication layers. A built-in simulation engine verifies timing and safety constraints against ISO 13849-1 before any code touches hardware.
Recent field trials at a Fortune 100 steelmaker cut commissioning time for a pickle-line annealing furnace from six weeks to four days, eliminating 1,200 engineering hours and saving an estimated $480 k in downtime-related costs. “Forge360 changes the economics of brown-field automation,” said Laura Kim, chief executive officer of Software House. “We’re giving process experts—not just software developers—the tools to iterate on the line while it’s running, something that was unthinkable with traditional PLC vendors.”
The release also addresses cybersecurity concerns that have intensified after the 2024 Erie water-treatment ransomware incident. Forge360 generates SBOM (software bill of materials) documentation for every build and enforces zero-trust device authentication via NIST-compliant hardware roots of trust.
Market analysts note that low-code adoption in industrial settings is accelerating. Gartner’s October 2025 “Market Guide for Low-Code Application Platforms” forecasts that by 2027 more than 65 % of new manufacturing applications will be built using low-code or no-code tooling, up from 25 % in 2023. “Vendors that couple visual development with domain-specific industrial libraries are positioned to capture the largest share of this growth,” the firm wrote.
Forge360 is available immediately on an annual subscription basis priced at $7,500 per plant line, including 24/7 U.S.-based support and quarterly feature releases. Early-access customers receive migration credits for legacy Rockwell or Siemens licenses, further reducing switching costs.
