The fountain’s name was determined through a contest conducted by Emaar Properties, the winner of which was announced on October 26, 2008. The fountain’s testing began in February 2009 and it was officially inaugurated on May 8, 2009, in conjunction with The Dubai Mall’s official opening ceremony.
The world’s highest fountain dwarfs those in Las Vegas. Every day, many fountain displays are held in the 30-acre Burj Lake, shooting 22,000 gallons of water 500 feet into the air. You may also get considerably closer to the action than ever thanks to a new floating viewing platform. Even better, it’s completely free. If you visit Dubai Mall, you’ll almost definitely see the fountains so make sure to relax and enjoy the show.
