DIFC and Mizuho Partner to Give Up to 6,000 Japanese Startups Direct Access to Dubai’s Innovation Ecosystem

Dubai, UAE – Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has announced a partnership with Japanese banking group Mizuho that will give up to 6,000 Japanese startups direct access to DIFC’s innovation ecosystem and to the wider Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) market.

Partnership at a glance

  • Partners: DIFC and Mizuho
  • Reach: up to 6,000 Japanese startups from Mizuho’s network in Japan
  • Goal: open doors to investment, collaboration and knowledge exchange in Dubai and MEASA
  • Announced: during Dubai Future Finance Week 2026

Why it matters

Mizuho works with thousands of startups in Japan and helps connect them with large companies and investors. The partnership gives those founders a ready route into Dubai, where they can test products, raise capital and reach customers across the region. DIFC said the deal also supports its push to build new economic corridors linking emerging markets and the Global South.

Mizuho already operates in DIFC through Mizuho Bank and Mizuho International.

DIFC’s growing tech hub

The announcement came as DIFC reported that its AI, fintech and innovation community has grown past 2,000 firms. During the same week, DIFC launched its Digital Economy 2.0 report with research partner Asia House, and said its new Geo-Spatial Accelerator, run with Realm Insurance, drew 73 applications from 24 countries.

For Dubai, the deal adds Japan to the growing list of markets sending startups into the emirate’s finance and technology ecosystem.
