Dubai, UAE – Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Alibaba Cloud to speed up the use of agentic AI across Dubai’s private sector. Agentic AI refers to AI systems that can carry out tasks and take decisions on their own, rather than only answering questions.
Where it was signed
The MoU was signed at the Dubai Business Forum – China in Shenzhen by Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Dr Feifei Li, Chief Technology Officer and President of International Business at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
What the partnership offers
- Training: train-the-trainer programmes and learning resources for company employees
- Startups: technical mentoring, technology credits, computing resources and software licences, plus links to Alibaba Cloud programmes
- Enterprises: support for pilot projects and full deployments, with technical and implementation expertise
- Market access: proven solutions may be showcased on Alibaba Cloud Marketplace
Part of a wider AI push
The agreement adds to a run of agentic AI partnerships signed by the chamber in recent weeks, including MoUs with Nebius Academy, Lovable and NASSCOM. Dubai Chambers is running specialised training tracks to help around 14,000 member companies of its business groups and councils bring agentic AI into their operations, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Alibaba Cloud has served customers in the UAE since 2016 and runs two data centres in the country. Eric Wan, its General Manager for the Middle East, Turkey and Central Asia, said agentic AI is now moving from trials into everyday business use.
