Dubai, UAE – Dubai Municipality has opened the 2026–2027 Al Ruwayyah winter camping season, running from 1 November 2026 to 30 April 2027. The season has been expanded to 600 camps, an increase of around 120% on previous years, and introduces new options for families who want to enjoy Dubai’s desert during the cooler months.
What’s new this season
- 50 dedicated caravan plots, offered for the first time
- 10 fully equipped camps available for daily rental
- Double-sized plots of up to 800 square metres alongside standard 400 sq m plots
- 10 spaces set aside for winter events, plus dedicated areas for government entities
How to book
Seasonal camp bookings are open to UAE nationals through the Dubai Municipality winter camp website (wintercamp.dm.gov.ae) or the DubaiNow app. Seasonal reservations run from three to six months, while caravan plots and daily rental camps have separate booking routes.
Rules for campers
Campers must follow approved regulations, install temporary fencing and use their camps only for family and camping activities.
Opportunities for small businesses
Small and medium-sized enterprises can apply to provide food and beverage, desert activities and recreational services at the site. Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the expansion is designed to give families a safe and well-organised environment to enjoy the winter season.
